Head of Environment for Sund & Bælt

Then you now have the opportunity to become Head of the Environment Department at Sund & Bælt.
The position
Sund & Bælt is a state-owned company under the Danish Ministry of Transport, responsible for the planning, construction and operation of fixed links such as Femern, Øresund and the Great Belt. In the division for Project Development and Sustainability, the Group’s environmental, regulatory, technical and project competencies are brought together.
As Head of Environment, you will be the people manager for the Environment Department and work closely with, among others, the Head of Regulatory Affairs. The department operates in a matrix structure, ensuring flexible use of resources across projects.
Areas of responsibility
- People management of 16 environmental consultants with different areas of expertise
- Management of external environmental consultants
- Environmental Impact Assessments for projects including the Eastern Ring Road and the Airport Dike (storm surge protection of the Kastrup Peninsula)
- Feasibility study of a storm surge barrier at Kalvebod
- Environmental supervision, marine monitoring and nature-related activities on the Femern Belt project
- Environmental support for the operation and maintenance of the Great Belt and Øresund links
Your background
You have a relevant background within the environmental field from central government, municipalities, a client organisation or consultancy, and solid experience with people management. You thrive in interdisciplinary environments and are used to working with complex issues, preferably in politically governed organisations.
We expect you to have experience with and insight into national environmental and climate agendas at a level that enables you to critically assess consultancy deliverables and ensure high-quality Environmental Impact Assessments. In addition, you have experience with stakeholder management, ensuring that citizens and other stakeholders perceive Sund & Bælt’s handling of environmental assessment processes as professional and transparent.
