Electrical Engineer in Femern A/S

Kickstart your career as a graduate engineer in the Fehmarn belt project

Then you are maybe our new graduate Electrical engineer in the TEM Department responsible for the design of the electro-mechanical contract overseeing the design and build contractor’s performance.

The Team
We are an organisation of very dedicated employees with Danish, European and international backgrounds and great experience from mega projects around the world. We have our main office in Copenhagen and site offices in Rødbyhavn and in Burg on Fehmarn. 

The Job
You will – alongside the E&M Design Manager and the Design Manager for Electrical Systems – be part of the design team. The main focus will be on electrical services comprising of medium and low voltage power supplies, normal-, emergency- and orientation lighting, cable management, earthing & bonding, automation & control systems, etc..  In the subject matter you have to drive design progress with consultants and contractors, ensuring and monitoring that they are on time and well within their risk frame and relevant authority approvals are in place.  

Your key tasks will be: 

  • Coordinating and monitoring E&M consultants and contractors.
  • Engaging / reviewing contractors design submissions, RFIs, procedures, schedules, equipment, manuals etc. and ensure project compliance with all relevant requirements. 
  • Engaging in value engineering and change management.
  • Engaging in technical dialogue and interface management with all stakeholders
  • Support the work of the E&M function, in compliance with internal & external mandatory requirements including the climate friendly agenda.
  • Support Project Information Management Systems, e.g. Share Point, Think-project, Relatics. 
  • Support / coordination / structure of documentation, e.g., handover, O&M, as built, etc.
  • Meeting participation and preparation of meeting notes
  • Support testing & commissioning regimes.

Your profile:
You have a Bachelor / Master degree in electrical engineering and would like to work in high complexity large scale civil or infrastructure projects. A good understanding of how project management controls relate to other project functions such as HSE, construction, procurement, reporting, contract management etc would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will have the following key competencies & qualifications: 

  • Technical knowledge in electrical services and basic knowledge in mechanical works would be advantageous.
  • A good overview of processes & talent to predict upcoming challenges before they arise.
  • Good analytic and strategic skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver your messages clearly and unambiguously. 
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken.
  • Able to thrive in an international environment whilst creating good relationships within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic team player, self-motivated and pro-active with good attention to detail
  • Familiar with e.g. Microsoft Office and project management tools.
