Design Manager for Passing Track at Kalvebod, Sund & Bælt
Do you want to take part in upgrading some of the most important railway-lines in Denmark?
Sund & Bælt owns and operates the railway-lines in connection with the Great Belt Fixed Link, the Øresund Fixed Link and the future Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link. Lines which binds Denmark together and which connect Denmark to Scandinavia and Europe.
To be prepared for the expected increase in railway traffic after commissioning of the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link we are also increasing the capacity on the Øresund line connecting Copenhagen to Copenhagen Airport and the Øresund Fixed Link.
For this purpose, we are looking for a Design Manager for railway systems, who is experienced in railway-projects including track works.
The Position
You will be a part of the Major Projects section of Sund & Bælt. Major Projects is responsible for execution of projects like “Passing Track at Kalvebod”; “Expansion of Copenhagen Airport Station”, “Expansion of the Øresund Motorway” and other similar projects. Major Projects is working closely together with all other departments in Sund & Bælt, and as a Design Manager for Railway you will particularly have a close dialogue with our colleagues in Asset Management (who is going to take over the project when it is finished).
Responsibilities
As a design manager you are responsible for the requirements to and design of railway installations in the projects. This includes:
- Specifying tasks to be designed by external consultants.
- Interface management between different technical areas within the projects.
- Following up on progress in the design performed by external consultants.
- Quality assurance of detailed design.
- Assuring that the project can be approved according to railway safety- and interoperability regulations.
- Participating in the tender process for construction contracts.
- Following up on works performed by external contractors.
- Participating in commissioning and hand over from project to operating organization.
Your Background
We expect, that you:
- Have an education as M.Sc or B.Sc in engineering – or have a similar technical background.
- Are experienced in railway projects – it will be an advantage if you have knowledge in track-systems including IT-Software used for Track-Design.
- Have knowledge about Danish and European norms and standards.
- Have knowledge about railway safety.
- Speak and write English fluent.
