Design Manager Railway

Do you want to take part in upgrading some of the most important railway lines in Northern Europe? 
 

Sund & Bælt owns and operates the railway lines in connection to the Great Belt Fixed Link, the Øresund Fixed Link and the future Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link. Lines which bind Scandinavia and Europe together.  

To be prepared for the expected increase in railway traffic after commissioning of the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link we are increasing the capacity of the Øresund line connecting Copenhagen to Copenhagen Airport. Primarily this means upgrading the existing landbased rail connections. This is where you come in, as an experienced Design Manager for railway systems, including track works - you will play a key part in these projects. 

The position 
The role will be a key part of the Major Projects section of Sund & Bælt. Major Projects is responsible for completion of projects like “Passing Track at Kalvebod”; “New Station at Copenhagen Airport”, “Extension of the Øresund Motorway”. 

You will also get to contribute to projects in other parts of the Sund & Bælt value chain – where you will have the opportunity to contribute to some of the other significant infrastructure projects that we are involved in.  

Key tasks 
As a design manager, you are responsible for specifications for railway installation designs in the different projects. This includes: 

  • Specifying tasks to be designed by external consultants 
  • Interface management between different technical areas within the project 
  • Following up on progress in the design performed by external consultants 
  • Quality assurance of detailed design delivered by external consultants 
  • Contributing in the tender process for construction contracts 
  • Following up on works performed by external contractors 
  • Participating in commissioning and hand over from project to operating organization .

Your profile 

We expect that you: 

  • Have an education as M.Sc or B.Sc in engineering – or have a similar technical background 
  • Are well versed in railway projects – it will be an advantage if you have knowledge in track-systems 
  • Have knowledge about Danish and European norms and standards in terms of railways 
  • Have knowledge on managing railway safety 
  • Speak and write English fluently 
  • As Design Manager take responsibility for your work, and since you will be working together with other colleagues its equally important that you work in a structured way and can create relations to stakeholders 
  • Are a teamplayer!

Salary
